Cyber Risks in Securities Services Working Group

Scope

Cyberattacks on the securities markets are still relevant and occurring. ISSA has published three papers in the last 24 months, addressing the idiosyncratic risks faced by Securities Service providers. New threats arise which may cause the group to reform but at the moment this WG is dormant. If you become aware of a risk which is not addressed in the prior papers and is unique to the Securities Service industry, please let Colin Parry know and the group will reform to address those risks.

As part of the exploration of Cyber issues the WG will have a Cyber focused workshop in September looking at the interactions between our clients, i.e. the asset owners and investment managers and the custodians and CSDs. This is open to the Cyber WG participants and will include an insurance perspective on Cyber risks.
