AI in the real world – where is AI being used in post-trade and what is planned for the near future?
Working Groups
ISSA is pleased to share the key findings from our AI in the real world 2026 research, in partnership with The Value Exchange, Broadridge, and DeepSee.
This research, completed in Q2 2026, explores how firms are applying AI in post-trade; across operations, including settlements, asset servicing, onboarding/KYC, reporting, client servicing and risk. It also examines the barriers to scaling AI safely.
Inside the Key Findings Report, you’ll find relevant insights, including:
- 49% of firms now have generative AI in production, compared with just 11% for agentic AI.
- In core operations, adoption is still more future-state than current: 29% live against 47% planned.
- AI’s expected business impact is set to rise 56% over the next three years.
- 91% of firms want AI to improve accuracy and reduce operational errors from their providers.
- 78% of respondents see AI as personally valuable, even as privacy, data, regulation, talent, and model risk shape the pace of scale.
The findings provide a practical view of where AI is delivering value, what is holding back scale, and what will shape the next phase of adoption. Download the Key Findings Report here:
